6–7 July
Mykonian panigiria are run by the families who own the chapels, and Agia Kyriaki on 7 July is one of the few in town: vespers with artoklasia on the evening of the 6th, then wine, boiled lamb, kremidopita and kopanisti for everyone, with tsambouna and toumbaki and dancing into the night. Rural chapels at Mikres and Megales Diles celebrate the same saint the same night.
26–27 July
On 26-27 July the chapels of Agios Panteleimon at Marathi, Vorina and by the airport hold their family panigiria in the traditional way: vespers, then food (lamb with lemon, giachni, meatballs) and wine for all comers and dancing to tsambouna. Marathi, inland near Ano Mera, is the easiest to find; ask at Ano Mera which family is hosting.
14–15 August
The monastery of Panagia Tourliani in Ano Mera's square is the island's spiritual centre, and on the evening of 14 August, after the vespers, the square fills with a free traditional panigiri: local musicians (Lefteris Kantenas in 2026), wine, and dancing until late, then the liturgy and procession on the 15th. Ano Mera is 15 minutes by bus from Chora and the buses run late that night.
22–30 August
Major international LGBTQ+ summer festival drawing 30,000+ visitors. Pool parties, beach events, headline DJs at Cavo Paradiso and other venues. Mykonos has been a leading gay summer destination since the 1970s; XLSIOR is the most concentrated week of it. Expect rooms to be impossible.
23 August
Nine days after the Dormition, Panagia Tourliani in Ano Mera has a second, quieter panigiri in the monastery square with the local group Aposperites playing island music, food and wine. Less crowded than the 15th and easier to get a table at the tavernas around the square.
26–27 August · Mykonos Chora
On the evening of 26 August the chapels of Agios Fanourios in Chora and at Ano Mera (and the rural one at Chondros Gkremos) hold vespers with fanouropita for everyone, followed by wine and music. A small, local end-of-August feast worth catching between the beach clubs.
25–26 September
The hill chapel of Agios Ioannis at Diakofti celebrates the Theologian on 26 September (and again on 8 May) with a family-run panigiri: vespers, then lamb, wine and tsambouna music for whoever climbs up. September on Mykonos is when the old island reappears, and this is a good place to see it.
Dates are resolved for 2027: fixed saint's days as they fall, movable feasts computed from Orthodox Easter (2027: 2 May). Panigiria are usually held on the eve of the saint's day, and a village occasionally shifts one to the nearest weekend — where an entry says "confirm locally", the date comes from recent years' announcements rather than an official calendar.
