DAY 1

Thasos Town & Ancient Agora

20 km Β· 45 min πŸŒ™ Sleep: Thasos Town
10:00

Thasos Town (Limenas)

Main port and capital. The old town sits on top of the ancient city β€” you'll see ancient ruins in people's gardens.

11:00

Ancient Agora

One of the best-preserved Agoras in Greece β€” paved Roman plazas, stoas, Hellenistic temples. Right next to the archaeological museum.

12:30

Ancient Theatre of Thasos

15-min climb through pine forest to the 4th-century BC theatre carved into the hillside. Still used for summer performances.

Ancient Theatre of Thasos

Chrysi Ammoudia (Golden Beach) πŸ– beach card Β· wind & conditions β†’

Long sandy east-coast beach. Pine forest runs right to the sand.

Chrysi Ammoudia (Golden Beach)
20:30

Drive back to Thasos Town

Drive back along the east coast (about 25 minutes from Golden Beach). Limenas (Thasos Town) has the best night-time scene on the island β€” a long waterfront with bars, tavernas, and a small ancient agora lit up at the heart of it.

🍽 Lunch Β· Thasos Town (Limenas) Simi is the elegant waterfront spot in Limenas β€” fresh fish and some of the best Thasian cooking on the island.
DAY 2

Mountain Villages & Marble

50 km Β· 120 min πŸŒ™ Sleep: Thasos Town
10:00

Panagia Village

Traditional stone-built village with slate roofs and a spring running through the main square. Old-world Thasos.

Panagia Village
11:00

Potamia

Home of sculptor Polygnotos Vagis β€” small museum in the village celebrating his work.

Potamia
13:00

Aliki Archaeological Site

Ancient marble quarry on the southeast coast. Twin harbours, 7th-century BC temples, quarry cuts visible in the cliff face.

17:00

Theologos

Old capital of Thasos, high in the mountains. Traditional stone houses, best preserved village on the island.

21:00

Drive back to Thasos Town

Drive back from the mountain villages (about 50 minutes from Theologos). The descent through the pine forest at twilight is quietly beautiful β€” pull over at a viewpoint if the timing is right.

🍽 Lunch Β· Aliki Archodissa overlooks the Aliki bay with views to Mount Athos β€” homemade plates, famous for its sun-dried octopus and lamb with potatoes.
DAY 3

West Coast Beaches

40 km Β· 90 min πŸŒ™ Sleep: Departure

Limenaria

Second-largest town on Thasos. Working fishing port on the southwest coast.

Limenaria

14:00

Potos

Lively resort village with a long sandy beach and dozens of tavernas on the promenade.

Potos
17:00

Marble Beach (Saliara)

Reached by 4x4 or boat. White marble pebbles and turquoise water β€” the most photogenic beach on Thasos.

Planning questions

Is 3 days enough for Thasos?

Yes, for a first visit. The plan covers the essentials at a pace that leaves time in the water. With one more day, add a slow beach day with no driving.

Do I need a car on Thasos?

Yes. The beaches and villages are spread out and the bus does not reach the ones that matter; book ahead for July and August.

Where should I stay on Thasos?

The plan sleeps in Thasos Town and Departure, so you are not crossing the island every morning.
