Pserimos sits in the channel between Kos and Kalymnos — a low, dry island of fewer than a hundred permanent residents whose single village opens straight onto a wide, shallow, sandy bay. In summer it fills by day with excursion boats from both neighbours, then empties again by evening, when the handful who stay have the beach to themselves. Beyond the main bay are two or three quieter beaches reached on foot. There are no cars and no real roads — just tavernas along the sand and a scatter of rooms.

- Families — the village beach is a wide crescent of shallow, warm sand you step onto off the boat
- Anyone who will stay the night — the excursion boats leave late afternoon and the big beach empties
- Day-trippers from Kos or Kalymnos — Mastichari is 35 minutes away, Kalymnos about 50

- If you want the sand to yourself at midday — excursion boats from both neighbours fill Avlakia through the middle of the day
- If you need more than tavernas and a few rooms — fewer than a hundred residents, no cars, no real roads, no nightlife
Getting there
No airport. Daily excursion and local boats run from Mastichari on Kos (~35 min) and from Kalymnos (~50 min) through the summer, typically out in the morning and back late afternoon. Off-season sailings are sparse.
Tip: Stay the night to have the big beach to yourself once the day boats leave.
Best time to visit Pserimos
High summer is when Pserimos is alive — May to September, with July and August busiest by day from the excursion boats. Come in June or September, or simply stay the night, to catch the island at its quiet best.

The wide, shallow sand beach the whole village sits on — warm, calm water ideal for families, with tavernas at the back. Busy by day with excursion boats, blissful in the evening.
