Feast of the Holy Spirit (Agiou Pnevmatos), Othonoi

21 June · Ammos, Othonoi

The Monday after Pentecost is the day the Corfu festival calendars give for Othonoi, the westernmost point of Greece: liturgy, then a village meal and music by the harbour at Ammos for the islanders and the first summer visitors. The ferry from Agios Stefanos (Corfu) is the only way; it runs a few times a week in June, so plan to stay a night.

Panigiri of the Dormition, Othonoi

15 August

15 August is the one night of the year Othonoi is full: emigrants back from America and Corfu, liturgy in the morning, and a panigiri with music and food by the harbour that goes late. Rooms are few, so book months ahead or come on the day-boat from Agios Stefanos and go back on the late run.

Dates are resolved for 2027: fixed saint's days as they fall, movable feasts computed from Orthodox Easter (2027: 2 May). Panigiria are usually held on the eve of the saint's day, and a village occasionally shifts one to the nearest weekend — where an entry says "confirm locally", the date comes from recent years' announcements rather than an official calendar. If you know better, the feedback button exists for exactly this.
