23 April
Spartochori's church of Agios Georgios celebrates on 23 April (or Easter Monday when the 23rd falls in Lent), with liturgy and a procession of the icon through the whitewashed lanes above the port of Spilia, then coffee and sweets offered outside the church. Out of season, so it is locals only; a good excuse for a spring day-trip from Nydri.
28–29 June
Katomeri's parish church is dedicated to Peter and Paul and its feast on 29 June is the first panigiri of the Meganisi summer: vespers on the 28th, liturgy and then food and music in the village square. Small island, small crowd, mostly locals and yacht crews from Vathy and Spartochori.
5–6 August
The Transfiguration is kept at the church of the Saviour in Katomeri and at the Faneromeni monastery's dependency on the island, with vespers on 5 August and liturgy on the 6th attended by the mayor and the monastery's abbot; a reception follows. It is a church feast more than a party, but it lands in the busiest week of the year and the tavernas of Katomeri fill afterwards.
15 September
Agios Vissarion is Meganisi's protector and 15 September is the island's own feast day: the Metropolitan of Lefkada usually comes over to lead the liturgy in Vathy, followed by a procession of the icon to the harbour and a reception. The island has emptied of tourists by then, so it is the most Meganisiot day of the year; ferries from Nydri run as normal.
Dates are resolved for 2027: fixed saint's days as they fall, movable feasts computed from Orthodox Easter (2027: 2 May). Panigiria are usually held on the eve of the saint's day, and a village occasionally shifts one to the nearest weekend — where an entry says "confirm locally", the date comes from recent years' announcements rather than an official calendar.
