2 May
On Easter Sunday evening (6.30 pm) the fishing village of Perdika revives the burning of Judas: a procession from the primary school down to the harbour, where the effigy goes up in flames, the Vathy cultural association dances and the tavernas and locals hand out treats. Perdika's quay is the best place on Aegina for an Easter Sunday fish dinner anyway.
3 May
On Easter Monday at 11 am the Cultural Society 'O Kapodistrias' revives the old Aeginetan Easter dance at the Stavros, the open ground among the Byzantine chapels of the abandoned hill-town of Paliachora: live music, the old songs and a circle dance that everyone is pulled into. Wear walking shoes for the stony path and go on to the monastery of Agios Nektarios just below.
16–17 July
The resort of Agia Marina on the east coast takes its name from the church, and on the evening of 16 July, after vespers, the Oinoi cultural association's dance groups perform and a traditional glenti open to all follows, with food and live music. It is the beach-town panigiri of the island; buses from Aegina town run late that night, or stay over and swim in the morning.
23–24 August · Aegina Town
Aegina's hospital is dedicated to Agios Dionysios of Zakynthos, who was bishop of Aegina and lived on the island, and the translation of his relics is kept on 23-24 August with an episcopal vespers at 7.30 pm and liturgy and memorial next morning. A town event for those already on the island in late August.
Mid-September (4 days)
Annual celebration of the harvest. Tastings, music, exhibitions, cooking demos. Dates vary year to year — check the municipality's site before traveling.
2–3 September · Kontos (Agios Nektarios)
Besides his main feast on 9 November, Aegina's saint has a second, summer one: on 2 September there are vespers at 7 pm at the monastery of Agia Triada, a procession of the relics to the big church, and an all-night vigil from 10 pm to 5 am; on the 3rd the liturgy and a second procession with relics and icon at 10.30 am. The Dimos lays on extra buses from the port; if you want to sleep in a guesthouse near the monastery, book weeks ahead.
9 November
Major pilgrimage to the monastery where the saint lived and is buried — one of the most venerated saints in Greek Orthodoxy. Thousands come from the mainland.
Dates are resolved for 2027: fixed saint's days as they fall, movable feasts computed from Orthodox Easter (2027: 2 May). Panigiria are usually held on the eve of the saint's day, and a village occasionally shifts one to the nearest weekend — where an entry says "confirm locally", the date comes from recent years' announcements rather than an official calendar.
