Aegina (3.3) is a real place first and a resort second — 13,000 residents, the morning fish market, the pistachio harvest, and the Temple of Aphaea, the best-preserved Doric temple on any island (4.2 culture). Poros (3.5) flips it: greener, calmer, better swimming (Love Bay, Askeli — 3.0), a prettier approach through the strait, but thinner culture and a town that mostly serves visitors.
