30 June
The first panigiri of the Ithacan summer, on the little harbour of Frikes for Peter and Paul: liturgy, then tables on the quay with grilled meat, local wine and a live band until morning. Half the crowd comes off the yachts moored a few metres away, so it is more cosmopolitan than most; the municipality lists it for 30 June, and Frikes also throws a second summer party around 10 August.

Perachori, the wine village on the hill above Vathy, opens its barrels on the last Saturday of July in the yard of the old primary school: a small entry fee gets you a cup and as much of the local wine as you can manage, with food stalls and a live band for dancing all night. It is a 10-minute drive up from Vathy, so a taxi down is the wise plan.
16–17 July
Exogi is the highest village on Ithaca, and its panigiri for Agia Marina fills the small square with its huge view over the north of the island: service in the evening, then food, wine and live music with dancing that often goes to sunrise. The road up from Stavros is narrow with hairpins; go up before dark and park at the entrance to the village.
19–20 July
Kioni's chapel of Profitis Ilias is built on a rock at the water's edge, so villagers arrive for the liturgy in small fishing boats, and the party afterwards is on the beach with a live orchestra playing beside the sea. It is one of the prettiest settings for a panigiri anywhere in the Ionian; Kioni is tiny, so book a room well ahead or drive over from Vathy (40 min).
5–6 August
The longest and largest panigiri on Ithaca, with more than a century of history: two nights, 5 and 6 August, in the central square of Stavros with an orchestra playing continuously, long tables of grilled meat and wine, and the whole north of the island dancing. Nothing to book, but arrive by 9pm on the second night if you want a table.
14–15 August
On 14 August the mountain hamlet of Anogi, home to the byzantine church of the Dormition with its frescoes and Venetian bell tower, hosts a panigiri in the church courtyard: the villagers roast meat and pour their own wine, and there is dancing until sunrise. Ithacans call it the most fun night of the summer; the drive from Stavros is short but winding, so share a car.
15 August
The island's central 15 August liturgy is in Platrithias, and the evening panigiri in its big square marks the unofficial end of the Ithacan summer: live band, barbecues, pop-up bars and dancing until dawn, with the whole island and every returned emigrant there. Rooms in the north are full that week; plan to sleep in Vathy and drive.
7–8 September · Kathara Monastery (above Perachori)
The Nativity of the Virgin is the feast of Ithaca's patron icon at the Kathara monastery, 600 m up above Vathy: great vespers on the evening of 7 September, hierarchical liturgy on the 8th with the Metropolitan of Lefkada and Ithaca, and a meal offered to pilgrims by the monastery. Come for the view from the bell tower as much as the service; the road up from Perachori is paved but slow.
Dates are resolved for 2027: fixed saint's days as they fall, movable feasts computed from Orthodox Easter (2027: 2 May). Panigiria are usually held on the eve of the saint's day, and a village occasionally shifts one to the nearest weekend — where an entry says "confirm locally", the date comes from recent years' announcements rather than an official calendar.
