DESCRIPTION:On 23 August\, the ninth day after the Dormition\, Naoussa's Women's Association ends its Enniamera bazaar and the village youth stage the Koursariko: around 21:00 boats with torches sweep into the old harbour\, 'pirates' dressed as Barbarossa's men (who sacked Naoussa in 1537) snatch the girls\, the locals fight back\, and it all dissolves into a panigiri with violins\, dancing and wine on the quay. Revived in the 1960s and held every year since.
