SUMMARY:Panigiri of Panagia tou Vounou\, above Platys Gialos
LOCATION:Platys Gialos road\, Sifnos\, Greece
DESCRIPTION:The hilltop monastery of Panagia tou Vounou\, with the best view over Platys Gialos bay\, celebrates the Annunciation with vespers and a Lenten panigiri on the evening of 24 March — revithada and cod rather than lamb\, since it falls in Lent\, plus the violin-laouto takimi. Out of season the island is quiet and this is a genuinely local night\; it's on the Apollonia–Platys Gialos road\, so easy to reach by car.\n\nhttps://aegeanblueprint.com/festivals/sifnos/#platys-gialos-road-panigiri-of-panagia-tou-vounou-above-plat
