DESCRIPTION:Chalkida's patron is Agia Paraskevi\, whose historic basilica is in the Kastro quarter\; her feast on 26 July opens a week-long fair established by royal decree in 1864\, with hundreds of stalls\, street food and rides\, held since 2026 in the Parko tou Laou (26 July-1 August in 2026) after decades in Vourkos. Vespers and a procession on the 25th at the church\; the fair is at its liveliest after 9 pm.
