DESCRIPTION:The feast of Chios's patron saint at her seaside shrine and monastery below Volissos in the Amani region is the island's biggest religious event: thousands walk the roughly 50 km from Chios town overnight on 21 July\, sleep on the beach and attend the liturgy on the 22nd\, visiting the rocks where holy water springs.
