14–15 August
The port village of Stavros hosts Donousa's biggest feast on 14-15 August: liturgy, then patatato (goat with potatoes) and other local dishes served to everyone, with live traditional music and dancing on the square until late. The island has a handful of rooms and one ferry a day; book both months ahead.
13–14 September
The village is named for its church of the Holy Cross, so 13-14 September is Stavros's own feast: vespers, liturgy and a smaller repeat of the August panigiri with local food, music and dancing, at the end of the season when only islanders and a few stragglers are left.
16–17 September
The spring village of Mersini, with its plane tree and view down to Livadi beach, celebrates its church of Agia Sofia in mid-September with a liturgy and a meal and music in the courtyard. The church calendar puts Agia Sofia on 17 September, though local listings give 19 September, so confirm at the port when you arrive.
Dates are resolved for 2027: fixed saint's days as they fall, movable feasts computed from Orthodox Easter (2027: 2 May). Panigiria are usually held on the eve of the saint's day, and a village occasionally shifts one to the nearest weekend — where an entry says "confirm locally", the date comes from recent years' announcements rather than an official calendar.
