16–17 July
The monastery of Agia Marina above the spring village of Apoikia, north of Chora, is Andros's big pilgrimage of the summer: a vigil on the night of 16 July and the liturgy on the 17th draw thousands, and the monks offer food to pilgrims. Palaiopoli on the west coast keeps a village feast for the same saint, with house-to-house visits and instruments. Park below the monastery and walk the last stretch.
26–27 July
In Kato Katakoilos, the terraced village behind Batsi, the feast of Agios Panteleimon on 26-27 July follows the Andros pattern: church, then greetings from house to house with food and drink offered at each, and dancing. The monastery of Panachrantou above Falika also celebrates the saint with a liturgy the same day.
first ten days of August
The port of Gavrio fills its first ten days of August with the Gavriotika: sports tournaments, a chess competition, folk evenings and, on the closing night, a big kakavia (fishermen's soup) cooked on the waterfront and served free with music and dancing. Handy if you are arriving or leaving by ferry that week.
5–6 August
Arni, the highest and greenest village on Andros, celebrates the Transfiguration with a panigiri on the evening of 5-6 August: froutalia (the Andros potato-and-sausage omelette), roast meat, wine and violins in the square, organised by the village association with free entry. The road up from Batsi is long and twisty; allow 40 minutes.
14–15 August
Korthi bay in the south is the island's best-known 15 August panigiri: liturgy and procession, then froutalia and soumada (almond cordial) in the square with island instruments and dancing. The same night Livadia and Makrotantalo in the north, and Ammolos and Pano Katakoilos hold their own glentia, and in Chora the seaside chapel of Panagia Thalassini celebrates.
15 August
Pilgrimage to the cliff-top monastery above Korthi. The icon is revered for healing properties; villages across the island send delegations.
23 August
Menites, the village of running water and plane trees above Chora, holds its Koumoulo panigiri on 23 August from 21:00 in the square, run by the cultural association with free entry: local food, wine and live island music. Katakoilos has its own big square panigiri on a nearby night (22-24 August), so you can do both in a weekend.
26–27 August
The seaside chapel of Agios Fanourios at Ormos Korthiou celebrates on 26-27 August with vespers, fanouropita for everyone and an evening glenti on the waterfront. A relaxed late-August feast in the south of the island.
28–29 August
For the Beheading of St John on 29 August, Makrotantalo in the far north keeps the feast with kerasmata and dancing after church, and the mountain village of Vourkoti above Apoikia holds its big panigiri the same night, with food, wine and violins in the square. Vourkoti is the more spectacular setting; the road up is narrow and unlit.
7–8 September
The beach hamlet of Vitali on the north-east coast holds the last panigiri of the Andros summer on 8 September, with a liturgy at the chapel of the Virgin and food, wine and music by the sea. Reached by a long dirt road from Vourkoti or Ano Agios Petros; go with a car you do not mind scratching.
Dates are resolved for 2027: fixed saint's days as they fall, movable feasts computed from Orthodox Easter (2027: 2 May). Panigiria are usually held on the eve of the saint's day, and a village occasionally shifts one to the nearest weekend — where an entry says "confirm locally", the date comes from recent years' announcements rather than an official calendar.
