The two big northern Cyclades, both two hours from Rafina, both blissfully underbuilt — and both scoring 3.7 for completely different reasons. Andros is the walkers' island; Tinos is the island of faith and food.
Andros is green in a way no other Cycladic island is: springs, waterfalls, and a legendary network of restored footpaths linking neochori mansions built by shipowners. Its beaches (3.8) — Achla, Zorkos, Grias Pidima — reward the effort of reaching them. Tinos answers with the Panagia Megalochari pilgrimage, fifty marble-carved villages (Pyrgos above all, with its Chalepas museum), dovecotes everywhere, and quietly the best food scene in the Cyclades right now — from Falatados wineries to San To Alati.
Choose Andros if your ideal day is a three-hour trail ending at an empty beach. Choose Tinos if it's a marble village, a long taverna lunch, and a winery. Both are weekend-perfect from Athens; together they make the best one-week culture-and-calm loop in the Cyclades.
